Photos

'Pray for the student next to you' picture Loren took for chapel one day.
These were Alaina's guardian girls when she was in HS. Guardians is a program where the high school students learn to run a youth group and mentor the middle school students. Now they are seniors and one of them is a Guardians leader today! Chaplains office where we work when we are not in the coffee shop.
This is our prayer chapel.
We are putting together the new small groups.
Alaina is making her favorite drink- the Carmel Latte!

Walk to School

Here is a quick walk from our apartment building to the front door of the Alliance Academy. Its a little shaky, but you get the idea. The 10 minute walk takes about 2 1/2 minutes in the video. We live on the same street as the school. Our apartment is "up the hill" from the school. The hill is really the base of the volcano Ruco Pichincha. Hope you like walking to school with me

My Small Group of amazing guys helped me put together this amazing video for chapel. The topic was concerning the resurrection of Christ. In the video a group of friends share what the event might have been like for them. It was a blast making the video. Hopefully there will be more fun videos like this in the future.

Miracle!

My aunt who was in a diabetic coma for the last 11 days just came out of it! Her kidneys, lungs, and heart are working much better. Thank you for your prayers! She still has a ways to go, but she is awake! Thanks be to God she knows who she is and who the loved ones around her are!
Reflecting back on the timing of this event I am able to peek slightly in to what Jesus' family and disciples must have felt when their messiah was killed. Jesus died (even less hope than a coma) yet three days later was walking and talking among them! When my aunt came out of her coma today what joy filled my heart. How much more joy did the disciples feel when Jesus rose from the dead? Their broken hopes and dreams lived again with joyous celebration!
Is the joy of Jesus being ALIVE displayed in your life?
